The first day of the 470 World Championships in Enoshima did not go quite as planned. After several days of fantastic sailing conditions before the first day of World Championships, the weather took a turn for the worse, bringing heavy rain and, unfortunately, very little wind.
The world's best 470 sailors are heading to Japan for the 2026 470 World Championships, taking place in Enoshima from 10–17 August. With a record-breaking Mixed fleet expected on the starting line, the championship promises eight days of exciting racing featuring Olympic medallists, world champions, rising junior talents and newly formed teams beginning their Olympic campaign towards Los Angeles 2028.
