The 470 junior clinic was carried out at Sesimbra between 29.6.18 and 2.7.18 and concluded today with success and with participation of 10 boats from six different nations.

Supervisor and appointed coach clinic was Atlanta 1996 470 Olympian Nir Shental a very successful international sailor in 420 & 470.

Topics addressed in the clinic were:

- Starts
- Short courses
- Speed test
- Sail tuning

 And as per individuals request athletes were supported with rig tune ups, downwind technics, starting strategy, maneuvers, brief, debrief, logistics assistance, personal advises.

Sailing session were of approximately 3-4 hours per day and were started 1200/1300 dependent on wind conditions mainly expecting the sea breeze to establish.

Conditions on the water were light to medium wind (4-11 knots) flat to short chop seas and current (strength and directions dependent on tide) most likely to be the event’s typical conditions.

The 470 fleet will go through the measurements on 4th and 5th of July. Competition starts on 6th of July and is expected to be strong!

470 International wish to thank the Clube Naval of Sesimbra personnel and the coaches who supported throughout the clinic along with the athletes who took part.
