Today was a very long day at the Sanremo Yacht Club. The race committee sent the fleet to the water at 10am with the first race starting at 11am as scheduled. The wind was coming from the southwest at a speed of about 8 knots, but unfortunately the wind dropped on the second upwind leg and the race had to be abandoned.

The race committee tried to re-start the race later in the day, but unfortunately the wind dropped again.
The fleet returned to shore and waited until 4:30pm, when an easterly wind of about 10 knots filled the bay.
The day ended at 19:30 with two beautiful races with winds between 10 and 20 knots added in the scoreboard. A long day but with some fantastic racing at the end.
Both races in the Mixed fleet were won by the Italians Gradoni / Dubbini. They are the new leaders of the championship, followed closely by the French team of Pacaud / De Gennes in second and another Italian team, Marchesini / Festo in third place.
In the Open fleet we had solid performances from the leading teams: the Italians Bozzano / Cassano won both races and they are now in second place overall, behind the Austrians Lehmann / Haberl who finished second in both races. The Americans Harvey / Reynoso follow in third place after finishing third in both races.
The regatta continues tomorrow at 12pm.
