ALL EVENT INFORMATION

After 2 days without races, and the previous ones with very light conditions, the 10-12 knots breeze today was received as a blessing on the fifth day of the 2022 420 & 470 Junior European Championships.

The day started with an AP on shore due to unstable conditions, but after 1 hour waiting, the fleets were finally sent to the water around 14:00.

Nice sailing conditions made the racing straight forward this time on water, excepting with the last 420's set of races, the third one for them, when a 40 degrees wind shift forced those races to be cancelled and be repeated.

The 470s returned to shore pretty quickly in the afternoon. The 420s did so much later, around 20:30.

After today's three races, all the fleets counting six now in total, one day prior to the final day of the championship.

470 results - Race day 5

The 470 mixed competition is still in the hands of Matisse Pacaud / Lucie De Gennes (FRA) with 14 points, followed now by Kacper Paszek / Oliwia Laskowska (POL) with 22 points. Beatriz Gago / Rodolfo Pires (POR) complete the provisional European podium with 27 points.

Annabelle Rennie-Younger / Andre Van Dam NZL are third in the European Trophy with 24 points.

Zofia Korsak / Franciszek Borys POL lead the Under 21 championship with 35 points.

The last races tomorrow will decide our new 2022 420 & 470 Junior European champions, therefore stay tuned! First warning signal at 11:00 for the 420s and 13:00 for the 470s.
