The City of Flowers smiles at the 470 World Junior Championship.
The day began with a light westerly wind which was enough for one race to take place, however after a second start the wind dropped and it was decided to send the crews ashore.
In the afternoon a nice wind from the East filled the bay of Sanremo allowing the unfolding of a beautiful race in almost 20 knots.
A good championship, hard fought and which takes place in the best weather conditions.
After seven races we find Marco Gradoni in the lead, the talented three time Optimist world champion sailing with veteran crew Alessandra Dubbini, who with a ninth and a first place today consolidate their leadership in front of the French Pacaud / De Gennes. Italy again in third place with the Marchesini / Festo duo, followed by the 2021 World Championship silver medallists from Israel, and then British and American crews.
In the Open fleet the Austrians Lehmann / Haberl who discard a second place as their worst result continue their journey ahead of the Imperia team of  Bozzano and Casano, penalized by a disqualification in the first race of the day. In third place we find the Americans Harvey / Reynoso.
Tomorrow the fleets will head again to the sea for more races, with the first start scheduled at 14:00,  getting closer to the final day with the Medal Races for the top ten of the ranking.
